National Seafood Survey - Aquaculture

BIM conducts an annual survey in which all aquaculture companies are requested to submit economic and operational details for the year. The data is grouped by species and submitted to the EU in aggregated format so your company or you as an individual cannot be identified. The information collected helps to inform European aquaculture policy. The data is collected in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2017/1004 and Commission Delegated Decision (EU) 2021/1167.

Completing the survey is a condition of grant aid payment and a legal requirement (S.I. No 132 of 2010).

How do we collect the data?

The data is collected for each species-culture, using one of the following four survey forms. Please click on the relevant link:

The survey has the same questions as previous years but organised now as a single column of questions. There are three additional questions on your technical requirements from 2023 onwards.

Please answer all questions as far as possible and then press the ‘Submit’ button at the bottom of the last page. Please see contact details below for any queries or difficulties relating to this new format. An alternative to the online version can be provided if necessary.

Your involvement in the survey is much appreciated.

Your rights under GDPR
